DTC 101 offers an introduction to digital technology and culture that integrates literary studies, rhetoric and composition, art and design, business, and sociology to prepare students for the technical and cultural challenges of the 21st century. It provides students with the history and culture of digital technology, while also providing hands-on experience with digital tools. We will delve into questions about what makes something a technology and how we conceptualize our lives beyond the digital.
Course Learning Outcomes
At the successful completion of this course, students will be able to:
- Perform humanistic inquiry in combination with computational methods.
- Assess information and cite sources.
- Engage in collaborative and project-based learning.
- Practice creative design and analysis of digital media.
